Well, today is my 26th birthday! I feel like I should write this dramatic post, but I can’t figure out what to say. If nothing else, I do want to take a second to thank you for all your support. I love taking pictures of my outfits, but it’s awesome knowing that you appreciate my sense of fashion. Fashion has always built up my confidence, but your support gives me that extra boost. So thank you so much for everything!
As you guys know, I’m pretty lazy when it comes to dressing up. I’m a suit and tie guy at heart, they’re just a little stuffy for everyday wear. When I do finally put it in the effort, I usually go all out. Last year I bought this sequin blazer from Zara. I figured my birthday was the perfect excuse to break out my favorite blazer. A sequin blazer is little over the top (especially since I don’t have birthday plans) but fashion is all about wearing what makes you happy. I remember as a teenager I would obsess over Dolce & Gabbana because they’d design these super flashy blazers. I’ve searched for a sequin blazer ever since I discovered Dolce & Gabbana. This is the first one I’ve found that’s affordable and in my size. Wearing it reminds me of why I fell in love with fashion in the first place.
My outfit is actually easier to pull off than you think. I always like to pair my tuxedo jackets with classics: a black bow tie, white shirt, and black pants. This combo is foolproof! I actually wore a similar midnight blue tuxedo jacket for birthday post last year. A lot more retailers made sequin jackets this year but ASOS will probably be the best place to buy one because of their variety. My blazer is no longer in stock, but I’ve rounded up some similar options below. When I bought this one, a lot of you asked for big and tall options so I’ve made sure to include some as well.
